Kanazawa University Strategic Project for Development of Doctoral Students and Research Promotion (HaKaSe?) and Career Support Office held the "Nature Masterclasses Expert Trainer-led Workshop" with the aim of improving students' academic skills.

This workshop will be led by Dr. Maybelline Yeo, a dedicated lecturer at Springer Nature, one of the world's leading publishers in research, education and specialization. All lectures were given in English.

On March 3, six lectures were given from morning to evening on the theme of "Impressive Academic Presentations," and on March 11 and 12, 10 lectures were given over two days on the theme of "Publication that effectively conveying research". Approximately 50 students participated in each workshop.

Dr. Yeo explained and coached students on various skills from writing to publication, including storytelling in their presentations, how to write effective titles, keywords, and abstracts, formulating key messages for the presentation audience, choosing the most appropriate journal, various strategies authors can consider when submitting to journals, editorial workflows adopted by journals, available AI tools to assist academic writing, and how to utilize insights and strategies generated by AI tools. Through these, the students learned the skills researchers need to communicate their research effectively.
