On January 21, Frontier Science and Social Co-creation Initiative held ZATSUDAN NO CHIKARA * event "Creating new value by learning about Ishikawa's "brand-name agricultural products" at the Kakuma Campus. Eight students, faculty, and staff from Kanazawa University participated in the event.

First, Ms. Yuri Arai from Ishikawa Prefecture Agriculture, Forestry and Fishery Department, Brand Strategy Division gave a speach about her own career and the branding of Ishikawa Prefecture's agricultural, forestry and fishery products.

During the chatting time that followed, four officials from Ishikawa Prefecture joined the group to discuss such topics as "How can we promote Ishikawa's brand-name agricultural products?". Some of discussed ideas were the following: "the governor tasting and appealing to the public" and "increasing the frequency of updates on SNS".

Participating students commented: "I became more interested in the work of public officials than ever before," and "I was able to hear the true feelings of the officials about their work".

ZATSUDAN NO CHIKARA" is an exchange program that creates a place for casual chats between students, faculty, and staff of Kanazawa University and people in the community. By freely discussing with each other without being restricted by occupation, type of business, or position, we hope to help students develop their careers and generate ideas for faculty, staff, and participating companies.
