In November 2024, Kanazawa University 's concept "Fostering value-creating talent through a multi-layered multicultural co-learning program and realizing a Global Innovation Campus to nurture them," was selected for Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology 's "Project to support the creation of social impact through the internationalization of universities" (Type I).

The "Project to support the creation of social impact through the internationalization of universities" is a project to support the development, implementation, and dissemination of multicultural co-curricular courses and subject groups in which Japanese and non-Japanese students learn together by making use of their cultural diversity in the process of identifying, analyzing, studying, proposing, and implementing solutions to issues in the domestic and overseas regions where universities and other educational and research institutions conduct their activities. The objective of this program is to promote the development, implementation, and dissemination of such co-curricular courses, subject groups, and courses, and to create an environment for the realization of a symbiotic society in which diverse human resources can play an active role, and to build an environment that will be chosen by excellent international students.

Kanazawa University As one of the 13 universities (Type I: 10 universities, Type II: 3 universities) in Japan that have been selected to participate in the program, Kanazawa University will promote the realization of a multiculturally convivial society where "internationalism is an everyday reality" over the next six years.

The purpose of this symposium is to publicize Kanazawa University 's concept to the general public and to reflect opinions from various sectors.
